College Fashion Week: Boston - Her Campus
Living in Boston has its perks, and I had the opportunity to attend the first event in Her Campus' first national College Fashion Week that took place at The Estate in downtown Boston last night. Sponsored by U by Kotex, NYX Cosmetics, Luna Bar and Svelte, all the attendants received a nice gift bag, free feminine care products by U by Kotex and complimentary Pinkberry and candy.
The fashion show included only women's wear and revolved around 4 collections, Going to Class, Working Out, Weekend Wear and Formal Wear.
The intermission entertainment was provided by Boston University's all male a capella group, the Dear Abbeys, who much to my delight, dressed up for the event and were a welcome addition of men's style among all the women's wear collections. |
Other than a few curious choices in the Working Out category and in HerCampus.com co-founder Windsor Hanger's wardrobe, the fashion show featured a balanced mix of trendy and comfortable clothing that would appeal to many college aged girls.
The event had a huge turnout of collegiettes from Northeastern, Boston College, Boston University and Emerson College and Her Campus' "College Fashion Week" is moving to Ann Arbor, MI next with Raleigh-Durham, NC and Santa Barbara, CA to follow later in October. If you're close to any of these areas make sure to get your free ticket to the event and enjoy the first event of this kind and magnitude in the US! Campus Sartorialists - Santa Clara University
Since we never properly introduced you to the two students behind the camera at Santa Clara University, we'd like you to meet Samir Khanna and Taylor Johnson of SCU Sartorial
Taylor is a marketing major at SCU and a fashionista since she knew what a credit card was. She started fashion blogging when she realized how she could influence others through her personal style. A Marilyn Monroe fanatic, Taylor truly believes that "if you give a girl the right pair of shoes she can conquer the world" and that's what she plans to do!
