Samir and Chelsea bring us more campus style from Santa Clara University, as part of #MacysCampusTour. Here we have SCU student Maria keeping cool in her white denim jacket by Jessica Simpson for Macy's and dress by American Rag for Macy's
HOUNDSTOOTH Madeline | Duke University
Shayan caught Madeline while shooting for #MacysCampusTour a few weeks back, while she was walking to class. Madeline is a Duke junior studying Public Policy.
NEUTRALSJohn & Yvette | Yale University
It's not always about the colors, as John and Yvette have shown us. Neutrals, like grays, beiges, taupes, blacks and whites, can also make an outfit stand out. Check out more tips from #MacysCampusTour here.
ROCK & ROLL SPRING UGA
It is spring break down in Athens, GA, and our two UGA Campus Sartorialists, Dana and Maddie are basking in the glory of 70 degree weather. Springtime is usually categorized with bright colors, poppy florals, easter eggs, and allergies, but this outfit turns those assumptions upside-down. Add some rock and roll "bad-assery" to your wardrobe with bright red lipstick, graphic tees, cheetah print, excessive jewelry and a can-do attitude. Check our #MacysCampusTour for more spring style ideas.
SPRING PRINT Monica | Duke University
Monica, a junior at Duke, photographed here by Shayan Asadi on our #MacysCampusTour, wearing a pair of American Rag Printed Shorts for Macy's. Just like Paul, from our previous post, this is a great example of how to best incorporate a bold print into your outfit without overdoing it.
SPRING NANTUCKET REDS Christina | Duke University
Shayan Asadi, one of our Duke University Campus Sartorialists, captured Christina welcoming spring with a pair of nantucket red shorts. Spring mornings can be a little chilly and layering will help you stay warm on your way to class. Christina combined her preppy shorts and cowboy boots, with a military inspired parka by American Rag for Macy's. Check out #MacysCampusTour for more spring inspiration.
PATTERNS, PURSES & PERSONALITY Alessandra | Fordham University
Our NYC resident Campus Sartorialist, James Breen shares his ideas on putting together an outfit, as part of #MacysCampusTour: "The number one thing when putting an outfit together is to make sure its "You". Don’t wear clothes that you think you should; wear what you like, what flatters you, and what is fun."
This beautiful Sartorialist mixes textures and patterns perfectly. There are three big pillars of fashion, color, texture, and patterns. Mixing different combinations of these three can create some outstanding looks, like this one. She kept the color palette basic while she amped up the textures and patterns. The flowy VInce Camuto Perforated Faux Leather Panel top from Macy's adds texture through the alternating black and white pattern.
Texture is important and in this outfit its present everywhere, from the metals to the leather on the skirt and bag. Warmer skin tones, like Alessandra's, favor gold, and she chose to accessorize her outfit by wearing a large gold ring and and a Gold Tone engraved Heart Bracelet set by American Rag at Macy's.
Have fun, mix textures and patterns and be sure to express yourself!
MATERIAL GIRL Dana | UGA
Another post in #MacysCampusTour from our UGA Campus Sartorialists, this time from Dana, who tells us she "loves loves loves crop tops for spring".
"I generally like to stay covered up, so the long sleeves on this Material Girl top from Macy's help cover my lanky arms. I paired it with a fun Indian skirt that Maddie found at Goodwill (she said it fit my persona, does that mean I'm an Indian princess at heart?). For accessories, I paired it with some chunky wedges, I found at Goodwill, stacking rings by Rhys May, a necklace by Laurel Hill and a simple Baggu pouch."
